Quarantine Fever is the latest term since COVID-19 to strike the world. Similar to "Cabin Fever" or going Stir-crazy", Quarantine Fever is a feeling or feelings that negatively impacts individuals who are experiencing extended periods at home or in isolation.

Feelings of boredom, restlessness, anxiety, stress, loneliness and paranoia are common.

Although intensity levels may vary, the extreme side of Quarantine Fever can lead to irrational thoughts and actions, violence, irritability and even suicide.

Here are some general tips for addressing the looming effects of Quarantine Fever:

1. Exercise- Stay active with physical activity, going for a walk, yoga, pilates and are good ways to expose yourself to sunlight and increase blood-flow to the body.
2. Practice Gratitude- mindfulness and focussing on all the good things around you can help change your mindset during difficult times.
3. Get social while social distancing- have an online party, call/text/email friends and family. Do a virtual movie or game night to put a new spin on social activity for the time being.
4. Use the 5 4 3 2 1 method- Find 5 things you can see, 4 things you can touch, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell, 1 thing you can taste to refocus and ground yourself.
5. Get treatment- a licensed counselor, doctor, therapist, coach or other medical professional might be able to help you curb the effects of Quarantine Fever.

You don't have to feel the way you do any longer. Addressing issues before they get worse can help you gain a sense of normalcy. 

1. Define what you're feeling. It's hard to address specifics if you're not sure what to even address.
2. Attempt to find why you feel the way you do. You might need help from a friend, family member, coach, counselor ect. to help pinpoint where you're at.
3. Eliminate anything that is causing you pain, discomfort, stress ect.
4. Replace these pain points with positive feelings.
5. Thrive. The mind, body and soul can only function at survival mode for so long. We are created to thrive, not just survive. Use this time and these feelings as a catalyst, like a plant that's been pruned, to spark growth and help you gain confidence, peace, fulfillment and sustainability.

In nature, the Grand canyon wasn't formed over night. If you plant a seed it doesn't sprout into a massive tree in minutes. 

These things take time. Anything that is built hastily falls quickly. Scams and pyramid schemes are prime examples. 

When it comes to health, wealth and relationships, these all take time. Just like planting a tree, it takes planning, preparation, effort, following a process and more effort. Don't forget the main ingredient, time.

​​To plant a seed we must figure out where, what, when and how we're going to do so. Just like launching a business, starting a diet or making a friend. It takes time. It takes effort. Intention. Planning and preparation.

Every overnight success took years of preparation and work. So before we fall victim to the next get rich quick scheme, fad diet or too good to be true tinder profile, we should stop and ask ourselves: was this created hastily or was it built on years of preparation and hard work? 

A tree with deep roots is hard to pull out of the ground. But a plant with shallow roots comes up with little effort.

If we start to analyze relationships, making money and our fitness journey with this in mind, we will become more efficient.

Don't give up. If we give up on our goals too early, we won't let's those strong deep roots take hold. If we're looking for success overnight, we will eventually fade. But having that persistence to continue moving forward even if we don't see results right away.

It takes faith. We can do everything right and still not see results. If we plant a seed and water it daily, we won't see green growth for quite some time. But if we have faith and follow a proven process we will certainty end up with what we planted.

It takes patience. A fruit producing tree can take years. If you're looking to build wealth, it's going to take years. The facts are most lottery winners go broke within a few years. What is quickly gather quickly fades. Having patience to get to where we want eventually is the only way to survive. The good news is when we learn to use our faith to receive patience, we win. Infinite patience brings immediate results.

Be aggressive. This might seem counterintuitive but if we don't act on an idea we become lazy. By relentlessly pursuing our dreams and goals we will be moving forward. We need patience and understanding that results won't happen over night. But also if we don't work towards our goals we'll never get any closer. This only works if we do.


If we're able to see the big picture, anything is possible. The laws of the universe say we must give something to get something. That's our time, money and effort. Using the right tools, getting the proper education or coaching can significantly reduce the time and effort needed. Either way the universe requires to receive something before we get what we want.

Just like Netflix and their instant streaming capabilities, we had to earn the money to pay for our internet, TV before we click a button and watch hours worth of entertainment instantly. We always have to give before we receive.

Serving others and having no expectations is the simplest way to get what we want. Happiness comes from helping others get what they want. We give our time and effort and receive happiness and fulfillment.

How many people are searching for happiness and fulfillment and will never get it because they are selfish rather than selfless?

It's not easy, but this is the proven process for life, health and wealth. Birds don't ask for food overnight to be delivered by Door Dash. They have faith that the trees and plants will provide food and they have the patience to get the worm. But they still have to put in the work. They are aggressive when the timing is right. Take action. Be patient. Don't give up. The early persistent bird gets the worm.

Here's a simple and effective way to set and achieve whatever you set your mind to:

• S- Specific: if a goal is not specific, it's hard to complete something that is ambiguous. 
• M- Measurable: if a goal isn't measurable and you can't track it's process and see if it's improved or completed, it won't be.
• A-Attainable/Action Plan: is a goal able to be attained? What will it take to achieve it? Flying to the moon is attainable....
• R- Realistic: are your goals realistic? Flying to the moon can be achieved, but for most people it's not realistic. Being able to push yourself to achieve more is a good thing. But knowing your limits and if a goal is realistic is super important.
• T- Timeline/Time Oriented: if a goal doesn't have a deadline, why would it get completed? If there's no sense of urgency, it will get pushed off and pushed off and eventually forgotten. 

This system is a useful tool to set effective and efficient goals and actually achieve them. This principle allows you to track your progress and improve along the way.

According to Scholarshipstats.com, if you're a high school baseball player you have less than a 12% chance of playing in college. Seeing the numbers that of the nearly 500,000 varsity baseball boys from around the country, that only 56,000 end up playing college. If you think a coach is just going to knock on your door, give you a call or email you giving you a scholarship, think again.

I wasn't the fastest, biggest or strongest, but I somehow found a way to earn a college scholarship. It wasn't from having huge stats. Nor was it from being the best player on the team. Take it from me, there was a lot of work off the field that I had to put in to get noticed.

Going to summer and winter camps. Attending showcases. Getting video analysis and working my butt off in the cages. Developing callouses through my batting gloves and wearing out many coaches helped.

I came from a small town and wasn't the best player. I ended up playing for a small NAIA school in the middle of Kansas called Central Christian College. If I would have had better expectations, maybe my career would have been different.

Playing time is not promised, it is earned. Even if a coach says it, you still have to earn every inning, at bat and pitch in college. 


Finding a good fit can be hard. The average college student changes their major 3 times before they graduate. It can be frustrating thinking you have everything all together as a 18 year old and quickly realizing you have no idea who you are and what you want to be when you grow up 4 years later.
